Horace Mann Day began at the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, New York.
Horace Mann was born on May 4, 1796. An American, he was vital in reforming the education system in the United States and promoting public education for all. Mann served on the Massachusetts State Board of Education and in the US House of Representatives between 1848 and 1853. He died on August 2, 1859.
